As part of the development of Slow Carnival World, this seven-week residency at Sinchon Arts Space became a site for what we called “porous research”—a choreographic investigation that questioned closed systems of rehearsal and production. Rather than generating knowledge through finalized performance, the research emphasized the minor, the disrupted, and the relational as sites of knowledge production. Through talks and movement-based sessions, the process unfolded ‘transparently, by making holes’—releasing what had been obscured or held in. The sessions invited participants not as passive observers, but as transparent presences: sensing, reflecting, and embodying the porous rhythms of the research itself. This residency did not conceal trial and friction, but honored them as generative. Mistakes, interruptions, and care became methodologies. What emerged was not a polished product, but an opening: a perforated field of slow-thinking, bodily intuition, and shared inquiry.

《투명인간이 되든, 춤을 추든》의 창작 과정 중 일부로 진행된 7주간의 신촌문화발전소 레지던시는 ‘뚫린 연구(porous research)’라 명명한 안무적 탐구의 현장이다. 이 리서치는 리허설과 제작 방식의 폐쇄적 시스템에 의문을 던지며, 공연이라는 완성물을 통해 지식을 산출하기보다는, 작고 불완전하며 관계적인 지점들을 지식 생성의 기반으로 삼는다. 감각적이고 느린 경로를 통해 지식이 발생할 수 있다는 믿음 아래, 이 레지던시는 시행착오와 마찰을 감추지 않고 오히려 생성적인 요소로 존중한다. 실수와 중단, 돌봄은 하나의 방법론이 되며, 작고 불완전한 틈들은 기념된다. 토크와 움직임 기반 세션을 통해 이 과정은 ‘투명하게, 구멍을 뚫어서’ 펼쳐진다—그간 가려져 있거나 억눌려온 것들을 해방시키며. 이 공유 세션에서 참여자들은 수동적 관객이 아닌 ‘투명한 존재’로 초대된다. 감각하고, 반추하며, 리서치의 다공적 리듬을 신체로 체화하는 존재들이다. 매끄럽게 마감된 결과물이 아니라, 신체로 직관하고 함께 탐색할 수 있는 하나의 장—‘구멍 난 장(field of perforation)’을 공연에 앞서 감각적으로 드러난다.
