Slow Carnival World is a multi-sensory performance rooted in the speculative reading of Eun-Hyung-beop—a 17th-century Korean healing method of hiding the body, found in the Donguibogam (1610). Here, invisibility is not disappearance, but a quiet return to the porous, collective body. What if becoming unseen was a technology of endurance—an ancestral gesture of resistance and survival passed down through generations? The work unfolds as an immersive, durational experience shaped by slowness, delay, and porous rhythms. Bodies move with temporal dissonance, entangling without clear beginnings or ends. Dance becomes a soft protest and a shared lucid dream—a slow carnival where mantra-like texts, food, fabric, sound, and gesture form a space for collective unmaking. Visitors are invited to chew, rest, drift, and listen. Together, we resist the grammar of legibility, embracing relational opacity and unbordered time. Slow Carnival World is a quiet rehearsal for surviving together—through the invisible.​ 

 

Slow Carnival World is structured with two main events: Common Ritual and Floating Action; If Common Ritual is a choreographed score of repetition, stillness, and shared presence,  Floating Action is a liminal zone of drifting attention: ambient gestures, quiet conversations, subtle shifts between performance and exhibition.  Visitors may arrive early or linger late, choosing how to participate.

〈투명인간이 되든, 춤을 추든〉은 『동의보감』(1610)에 기록된 17세기 한국의 치유법 은형법에 대한 현대적이고 사변적인 사유에서 출발한 다감각 퍼포먼스다. 몸을 사라지게 한다는 이 기술은 단순한 은폐가 아니라, 조용한 저항이자 공동체적 생존의 전략으로 다시 읽힌다. 이곳에서 ‘투명함’은 부재가 아니라, 다공성의 몸으로 귀환하는 선택, 다시 말해 공동의 몸으로 존재하기 위한 시도이다. 느림과 지연, 흐름과 반복으로 구성된 몰입형 지속 퍼포먼스 안에서 퍼포머와 관객의 몸들은 하나의 공동 리듬 안에서 얽히고 풀리며, 시작과 끝이 명확하지 않은 채 함께 흔들린다. 함께 생성되는 집단 자각몽이자 부드러운 저항의 장안에서, 텍스트, 음식, 직물, 사운드, 움직임이 서로를 가로지르며 관객은 씹고, 쉬고, 흘러가고, 듣고, 움직이는 존재로 참여한다. 이 느린 카니발 속에서 우리는 사이로 존재하기, 시간을 경계 없이 흘려보내기, 그리고 물리적 가시성을 넘어서 함께 살아남는 법을 리허설한다. 우리가 보이지 않게 될 때, 어떤 생존의 기술이 우리 안에서 깨어나는가?

투명인간이 되든, 춤을 추든>은 두 가지 상호 연결된 구조로 진행된다: 커먼 리츄얼(Common Ritual)이 반복, 정지, 공존의 안무 점수로 이루어진 집단적 몽상 상태의 퍼포먼스라면,  흐르는 액션(Floating Action)은 공식 공연 사이에 발생하는 비형식적 시간이자 안내자(퍼포머)가 장면을 해체하거나 대화를 이끌며, 관객은 공연과 전시 사이의 흐름을 직접 감각한다. 방문자는 일찍 도착하거나 늦게까지 머물며 쉬고, 대화하고, 관찰할 수 있다. 단순한 공연이 아니라, 더 유연한 존재를 연습하는 열린 사회적 공간이 된다.
